Firearms Legislation

All UK Firearms are licensed and can only be purchased with the relevant certificates issued by the Police.

We do not sell any firearms online, instead this website provides information on what we have available in store.  We are very happy to advise and arrange an appointment in store for viewing/fitting, or we can ship any firearm to another Registered Firearms Dealer (RFD) within the UK.

Buying Shotguns:

To purchase a Shotgun, you must possess a current Shotgun License. Applications for this can be done on Police Scotland's website here, or through the relevant area in the rest of the UK.

Once in possession of a Shotgun License, you can buy and sell shotguns as you wish, within the limits of your gun cabinet storage capacity.

Buying Rifles & Moderators:

To purchase a Rifle or Sound Moderator (silencer - also considered a firearm), you must possess a current "Firearms License". These are entirely separate licenses to Shotgun Licenses and require the applicant to apply for each individual calibre/firearm that they want, with justifiable reasoning.

Applications for this can be done on Police Scotland's website here, or through the relevant area in the rest of the UK.

*Important - Unlike Shotguns (where you can buy/sell them freely with a license), rifles & moderators require "variations" on your Firearms License when you are looking to change/upgrade them.

You must apply for each specific calibre/firearm, even when buying a new rifle in the same calibre as your old one. The latter is called a One for One variation, the relevant form for this is a 201V Form.  (e.g. if you have an old .243 that needs upgraded, you must re-apply for another .243 and sell/dispose of the old one first).*

If you are unsure of any aspect of licensing, we suggest speaking with your local Firearms Licensing department, or contacting BASC here.
